Southside Community Band

The Southside Community Band is a concert band formed in the Fall of 2017 from a core of experienced musicians who have played together for years.  In December, the Band gave its first public performance, in the sanctuary of Monumental United Methodist Church, and was warmly received by an appreciative audience. 

 

The band is always growing and welcomes instrumentalists and percussionists 18+ years old.  No audition is required; however, potential members are required to have a reasonable level of proficiency in playing their instrument. Other than percussionists, members must provide their own instrument and music stand.

We rehearse Tuesday evenings, from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m., at Monumental United Methodist Church, 450 Dinwiddie Street, Portsmouth, VA  23704.
