The Southside Community Band, Inc. is a concert band comprised of adult, dedicated musicians, who are committed to delighting audiences by playing music in the stylings of traditional and contemporary concert bands, marches, popular tunes and big-band swing. The Southside Community Band also collaborates with community and civic organizations to provide educational student programs.
The band welcomes instrumentalists and percussionists 18+ years old. No audition is required; however, potential members are required to have a reasonable level of proficiency in playing their instrument. Other than percussionists, members must provide their own instrument and music stand.We rehearse Tuesday evenings, from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m., at Monumental United Methodist Church, 450 Dinwiddie Street, Portsmouth, VA 23704.
